SIR DEREK JACOBI as Kristian Major


One of the greatest actors of his generation, and winner of the Best Actor Tony Award (1985), The London Critics Circle Award (1983), The London Evening Standard Theatre Award (1983), and The Laurence Olivier Theatre Award (1984), film, TV and theatre giant Derek Jacobi came to fame in the title role of I Claudius (1976) for which he won a BAFTA Award.  He has been critically celebrated for performances as Cadfael (ITV), as Alan Turing in Breaking the Code, (for which he was BAFTA-nominated); as Stanley Baldwin in The Gathering Storm; as Teddy in The Long Firm; and most recently as Pinochet in Pinochet in Suburbia.  He has starred in the films The Day of the Jackal and The Medusa Touch, and Henry V, Dead Again and Hamlet for Kenneth Branagh.  More recently, Derek has appeared in Robert Altman’s Gosford Park, Ridley Scott’s Gladiator, Nanny McPhee, Love is the Devil (as Francis Bacon), Underworld: Evolution and Little Dorrit.
